In June 2023, we celebrated our twentieth year in business, and we are still supporting a number of LabManager installations.
Many customers are still planning to run LabManager for a few more years, and with all of the software and hardware reaching end-of-life and end of support, keeping LabManager running is becoming more challenging.
HP-UX and OpenVMS based customers are facing particular problems, because HP have stopped hardware support. We are working with several customers to overcome this problem.
Windows customers do have a practical solution - Virtualisation. Several customers are already taking this route, and it is proving a very successful and cost-effective solution.
With unrivalled experience of upgrades and migrations over the last 22 years, a number of major customers have chosen Kidgell Technologies to do their upgrade.
We can perform same-server upgrades on HP-UX, Windows or OpenVMS, or we can migrate to a new Operating System, typically Windows. We can perform all the work needed to change platforms - updating PL/SQL rules, modifying LIL, Visual Basic or even Fortran custom code. We can also convert HP-UX shell scripts or OpenVMS command procedures into Windows-based scripts or programs.
We have converted an HP-UX-based LabManager and PeakPro system into a Windows-based LabManager system with full connectivity to an HP-UX PeakPro system, providing full data transfer and chromatogram scheduling between the two systems.
Since 2006 we have been providing customised support contracts, looking after systems which don’t have a full-time system manager.
Please note: although we can provide system support, such as designing reports, modifying database configuration, or even adding new users, we cannot supply the LabManager software.
